I sympathize. I'm SO glad that the petstore near me is a PetSmart (which does not sell ferrets), and opposed to the SuperPetz across town (which does). It never helps that I know that many of those cute babies are going to be bought on a whim by someone who has no idea how much work they are, and be returned or dumped when they discover this.
They always come running and tumbling and wrestling to the edge of the cage, and look up at me hopefully: "Now here's a mom who knows ferrets. Don't you want to take me home? Pleeeeeze?"
It's all I can do to turn away. It's hard, isn't it? I try not to go in SuperPetz. :-(
