It must be summer

Not technically, I know, but somehow Memorial Day weekend always signals the start of season for me. The warm and sunny weather we are having adds to that feeling. Besides, I made the year's first batch of fresh-brewed iced tea this morning! And I washed down the porch furniture and am heading out there shortly with a good book and a glass of the aforesaid iced tea.

This morning, after breakfast and the paper, I took a walk along the lakefront to Promontory Point and the 57th Street beach. I took my camera and got what I hope will be some nice shots of the skyline to both the north and the south. I couldn't get the interior of the Point's field house, though, because there was a wedding going on.

I agree...Memorial Day to Labor Day is my definition of summer. Back when I was a kiddie in Oregon, that was when school was out.
