I am exhausted and exhilarated. It was an extraordinary night. Pictures will be uploaded tomorrow evening and a full account rendered. For tonight, just let me say that there was laughing, crying, dancing, hugging of complete strangers, and it was the most well-mannered crowd I've ever seen. And if McCain's campaign had been half as decent as his concession speech, he might not have been giving one.

Very excited New Zealander delighted with the result. Also thoroughly impressed with McCain's concession speech - I could hardly believe it was the same person.
The US has a wonderful chance for forging ahead in the 21st century with optimism. You must all be very proud.

Were you there !!! Did you actually get to be in Grant Park for the celebration !? The energy must have been amazing.
And, yes, I agree about McCain's concession speech. Shades of the "old" McCain shone through. That was the McCain of a few years ago. The more moderate, thinking McCain. The one who disappeared once he declared he was running in the primaries and began pandering to the extreme right.
