May. 7th, 2005 08:38 pmDoveĀ® has a new ice cream flavor called Irresistibly Raspberry. It's vanilla ice cream, raspberry sorbet swirls, chunks of chocolate, and, when you open the carton, a layer of chocolate ganache on top. Do not read the nutrition label; you don't want to know, believe me. It is sooooooo good. And, surprisingly, not overly sweet or rich. Yum.
I decided not to traipse out to the south suburbs for the Steger library book sale, but I did stop by the United Church of Hyde Park rummage sale and a garage sale a couple of blocks away. Came back with several books, all but one of which I registered at BC. I picked up one, Mama Lola: A Vodou Priestess in Brooklyn, for my sister, and I know she won't journal it, so I don't see much point in registering it. (I know this because she hasn't journaled the registered books I've already given her, but that's okay.)
My downstairs neighbors are getting ready to put out their flower boxes; they've got a whole mess of flowers out on their back porch ready to plant. I'm going to hit the Garden Club sale next weekend. As usual, I'll get mostly herbs, but some flowers, too.
Got the notice on my COBRA insurance. The cost is not as bad as I expected, though it's not cheap. I'll need to keep up the dental insurance, too, lousy as the coverage is (my deep cleaning and scaling was "not an approved procedure"; would they prefer I lose all my teeth to gum disease and have to pay for dentures?).
