Planning ahead . . .
Jun. 3rd, 2006 03:06 amSo if the BC Convention is in Charleston on April 20 - 22, 2007, and if the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival begins the following weekend, does it make sense for me to go to Charleston, then rent a car and take a leisurely drive to New Orleans, seeing the sights as I go? Is that doable? And if it is, what sights should I see? What's of historical/artistic/literary interest between those two cities? Where's the most gorgeous scenery? I'm looking at a map, and it would make sense to hit Savannah, but which way should I go from there? Down along the seacoast and then the Gulf Coast, or inland?
Of course, god only knows what gas prices will be then, so between that and a couple of one-way air fares rather than a round trip it may be cost-prohibitive, but I think it would be rather fun. And this all presumes that Jazz Fest will be at its usual dates and that my sis will want to go the first weekend, rather than the second (but I think I can convince her).
