More "Must-reads"

Interesting that of the few I've read, most are not what I would call science fiction, but are utopian or (mostly) dystopian.

Must-read "thrillers"

( in quotes because 'mysteries and thrillers' would be more appropriate! )

Well, this is a veddy British list, isn't it? And very mid-century! Odd that they chose Woman in White rather than The Moonstone, which is generally accepted as the first modern mystery novel. And Red Harvest rather than The Thin Man or The Maltese Falcon? Blink, indeed!
