Lake Michigan was in a winter mood this morning, the water a roiling greeny-grey. There were whitecaps as far as you could see, and the waves were crashing on the breakwaters, throwing spray high up in the air. A narrow strip of light behind the clouds ran just above the horizon, and above that the sky was filled with dense grey clouds. Yes, we're expecting snow.

It shouldn't close Midway.

Last I heard, it was "rain possibly changing to snow with slushy accumulations of an inch or two" today, maybe some light snow tonight. But Skilling has been known to be wrong . . .

Bring a warm coat, though. 20's tonight, low 30's tomorrow.

Got my leather coat and my scarf. My boots are in the suitcase.

My father has been calling me every few hours with an update on the "possible snowfall". Last he said, they were thinking 1-3 inches in the SW 'burbs. /shrug.

I'm excited. I can't wait to be home.

I love all this talk of snow...as long as it's theoretical. ;) I've got standing water in my backyard, and the lazy little creek on our land is roaring like a rapids-can't imagine what it would be if all this wet were snow!
