I was going to be a good little hostess and do a diligent clean-up of the guest bath in preparation for my sister's arrival on Thursday. I went under the kitchen sink for cleaning supplies, and it's wet!! I keep stuff in a plastic pan under there, and it was half-full of disgusting dirty black water. Yes, kiddies, I have a leaky pipe. On the bright side, I have a double sink and this is on one side only, so I can use the other sink (but not the garbage disposal), and since it was leaking into the pan I just have to clean that out and toss some of the irretrievable stuff (water does nothing for the cardboard box of dishwasher detergent). And because I can use the other sink, it's not an emergency and I can wait for a non-"pay through the nose" day for the plumber to come fix it.
Nevertheless . . .
Nevertheless . . .

Date: 2005-11-19 11:25 pm (UTC)Having said that, once the pipe under my sink was leaking, and I fixed it just by tightening it - just with my hands, twisting it round where it joins together, the same way you'd tighten a lid on a jam jar. I don't know if yours might be able to be fixed like that.
Any day that the plumber calls is a 'pay through the nose day'
