We seem to have gotten an extra shipment of the stuff here in Chicago. So feel free to take as much as you want.

The drive home was sheer hell. On a bad day, it'll take me an hour and a half. Today, I left the office early, at 3:45, because of the weather. I got home at 8:20. That included a stop at a tollway oasis to clear off the car, call Daniella to say I wasn't going to make the Christmas party tonight, and use the facilities. Naturally, the muzak was playing obnoxious Christmas music, but I laughed out loud (as did everyone else) when they began to play, "Oh, the weather outside is frightful . . ." It certainly was.

Now I'm going to have some soup for dinner, and then relax with a glass of wine.

I would love a little snow once in a while, but what you just went through sounds positively grueling!

I'm glad you made it home okay.

I saw the satellite pictures on TV earlier today, and thought about the bookcrossers I know who are in the bad weather. (((((Stay warm and safe!!)))))

Your snow is headed our direction!

When I was living in Chicago and MrBish in Pittsburgh, I would call him and say, "In two days, it's going to be really cold." Or, "In two days, it's going to snow." I could always predict what the weather was going to be based on what it was doing in Chicago! Even now, I am more accurate than the weathermen.

And, again, we are lucky enough to have Chicago share with us (though it hasn't been two days).

Anybody want some snow?

No, thanks; we got our own last night. Now that it stopped, we're getting freezing rain on top of it.

After that hellish drive home, last night, I hope you have something good happen, today.

I knew it was nasty up there when I saw a headline that read, "Even Chicagoans Think It's Cold."

I hope the soup warmed you up and that today isn't so bad.
