Anybody want some snow?

We seem to have gotten an extra shipment of the stuff here in Chicago. So feel free to take as much as you want.
The drive home was sheer hell. On a bad day, it'll take me an hour and a half. Today, I left the office early, at 3:45, because of the weather. I got home at 8:20. That included a stop at a tollway oasis to clear off the car, call Daniella to say I wasn't going to make the Christmas party tonight, and use the facilities. Naturally, the muzak was playing obnoxious Christmas music, but I laughed out loud (as did everyone else) when they began to play, "Oh, the weather outside is frightful . . ." It certainly was.
Now I'm going to have some soup for dinner, and then relax with a glass of wine.

Date: 2005-12-09 05:32 am (UTC)When I was living in Chicago and MrBish in Pittsburgh, I would call him and say, "In two days, it's going to be really cold." Or, "In two days, it's going to snow." I could always predict what the weather was going to be based on what it was doing in Chicago! Even now, I am more accurate than the weathermen.
And, again, we are lucky enough to have Chicago share with us (though it hasn't been two days).

Date: 2005-12-09 01:14 pm (UTC)No, thanks; we got our own last night. Now that it stopped, we're getting freezing rain on top of it.
After that hellish drive home, last night, I hope you have something good happen, today.
