It really brightens up the foyer!

The vase and umbrella stand almost match, don't they? Very pretty!

They are very alike, but were bought at different times and places. They have a very Asian feel to them, which I like.

I am seriously in love with your hardwood floors. Originals?

As far as I know, they're the originals. There's a lot of woodwork in the apartment. Unfortunately, most of it was painted over, and the cost to strip it is way more than I can afford.

I like the shot down the hallway - really interesting angles (it took me a while to figure out that there was a mirror on the door - I thought you had two parallel halls for a minute!)

I like the angles, too, a nice change from the usual straight hallway. Where the hallway makes that jog, there's a bookcase on the wall! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/mojosmom/223782605/in/set-72157594249983973/)

I totally approve of any architect that bends a hallway to make a bookshelf space! :-)

And I'm completely in awe (and more than a bit jealous) of those fantastic bookshelves in your study. My dream home would have a wall of built-in shelves like that... or maybe several walls ;-)

I didn't get the mirror at all - I was wondering why there seemed to be a double hallway!

Elegant and stunning. Are both the china pieces oriental in design and / or manufacture? That is the impression I got anyway.

They both have an oriental design, but weren't manufactured in the orient. The vase was a garage sale find, and the umbrella stand is from an antique store.

I like your home. It feels very... calm.

Thank you. It is calm, at least until the cats decide to use the hallway as a race track (usually in the middle of the night!).

I love the clean lines of your hallway, and I'm pretty sure I have your vase's twin! If not identical, pretty darn close.

Cool! You should post a pic so we can compare!

I just went to look, and they're nothing similar! No idea why I thought they were. What a fluffbrain. Here it is, anyway:

I like yours better. :-)

Well, it does have a similar "masses of flowers" feel to it!
