Life's petty little annoyances

I took my car in for minor servicing on Saturday. At my dealer, they bring you the car when you pick it up, so of course it was running. I didn't drive anywhere on Sunday, so it wasn't until yesterday that I noticed that the "Maintenance Required" light was still flashing. They'd forgotten to reset it! So I had to bring it in this morning for them to do so.

It only took a minute, but having to go in made me get to work quite a bit later than usual, in itself not a problem. But it meant I had to park on the 4th floor of the parking garage, rather than my normal spot on the 3rd floor. I have no doubt that, no matter how many times I remind myself where I've parked, I will head for the third floor when I leave work this afternoon.

On the other hand, last night I got all the invites for my open house ready to be mailed. Now I just have to drop them in a mailbox.

In the "make of this what you will" category:

According to a sign in my office, today is "Marooned without a Moral Compass Day". In what may or may not be a coincidence, it is also Election Day in many parts of the country.

I don't suppose you want to hear that you could have reset the maintenance required light yourself? Instructions are in your car's owner manual. Something like press and hold the odometer reset button while turning the ignition... I think that's the procedre with the newer Civics with electronic odometers. Exact details are in the manual.

LOL! I shall have to read the owner's manual! I did actually say to someone at the office that I should have asked the guy to show me what he did. Of course, when I called them last night, they also could have told me this. Sheesh.
