I went to the 57th Street Art Fair, as I do every year. Fortunately, I had the good sense to go early. The Fair opened at 10:00 a.m. and I got there about 10:45. I had gone through everything and had a pulled pork sandwich for lunch, and was just finishing off an ice cream bar, when the skies opened and people were madly dashing for a) cover and b) to pull down the flaps of the booths to keep their art dry! It was pretty darn windy, too. I ducked into the shelter of a business entrance, and when it let up a bit, I opened my umbrella (such forethought!) and headed down the street to catch my bus. However, it got heavy again, but the good news is that I was right by O'gara and Wilson's used bookstore. They (and Powell's down the street) were getting a lot of business!
