Making a fool of oneself at the opera

Well, maybe not so much. I'm not the only one who needed tissues. We saw Madame Butterfly last night. No matter how many times I see it, and no matter how many times I say to myself, "Not this time!", I weep buckets. After the performance, as we left, the man who had been sitting next to me said, "I take it you liked it?" and I confessed to my weakness.
We had dinner at Corner Bakery down the street beforehand, but I brought our dessert:

And here is one of the pair of shoes I bought yesterday:

The other is a pair of black leather boots, and a good thing, too, because it's snowing. I'm not sure if it's "again" or "still". It was snowing when I left the opera last night, and commented to someone "from cherry blossoms to snow"!

Date: 2009-01-10 09:32 pm (UTC)I am in total agreement about "Madame Butterfly". I haven't seen it for years, but in my memory it's a firm favorite. "Tosca" is on tv here tonight!!! Just hope I don't fall asleep after my super-late night last night!
